Celebrating the 3rd Annual Sneaker Soiree
"Where Athletics, Alumni, Culture, and Philanthropy Meet"
Style, fellowship and philanthropy came together at the 3rd Annual Sneaker Soirée, as alumni, friends and supporters gathered to invest in the success of Morgan State University student-athletes.
Hosted by Morgan State University Athletics on the rooftop of the historic Lord Baltimore Hotel, the annual fundraiser supports the Champions Fund at the Morgan State University Foundation—providing resources that strengthen the student-athlete experience both in the classroom and in competition.
Contributions to the Champions Fund help advance priorities across Morgan Athletics, including scholarships, recruiting, academic support, student-athlete wellness, facility enhancements and championship-level competition within the MEAC and NCAA Division I. Through this support, donors and friends of Morgan help ensure that student-athletes have the resources and opportunities they need to develop academically, athletically and personally.
That spirit of support was on full display throughout the Sneaker Soirée. Dressed in chic all-white attire and statement sneakers, guests enjoyed an elevated rooftop experience featuring gaming tables, a VIP room, music and entertainment, a 360 video experience and photo booth, and opportunities to network and reconnect with the Morgan community.
A signature moment of the evening was the Sterling Steward Sneaker Contest, honoring the legacy, vision and spirit of the late Sterling Steward, who helped establish the Sneaker Soirée. Known for his creativity, style, energy and passion for bringing people together, Steward helped shape the event into an experience that celebrates Morgan culture while creating meaningful support for its student-athletes. Guests honored that legacy by showcasing classic, designer, custom, vintage and statement sneakers in a celebration of individuality and Bear Pride.
More than a memorable evening, the Sneaker Soirée demonstrates what is possible when the Morgan community comes together around a shared purpose. Every ticket purchased, gift made and contribution to the Champions Fund helps strengthen the foundation upon which Morgan’s student-athletes can compete, achieve and thrive.
As the Sneaker Soirée looks ahead to its fourth year in 2027, the opportunity to make an impact continues.
