Ways to Give

All private donations given in support of Morgan State University are managed and overseen by the Morgan State University Foundation, Inc. The generous donations from committed alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and foundation and corporate partners of Morgan State University are instrumental to the Foundation’s growth.

Annual Giving

The annual collective support of thousands of contributors will always be a key to providing a margin of excellence at Morgan in helping to advance education inside and outside the classroom. Each year, alumni, friends, and staff make contributions, knowing that their collective action has a positive impact on the lives of Morgan students. Innovative academic programming and career counseling coupled with hands-on experiences in research labs, community centers, and study abroad programs prepare Morgan students to become well-rounded leaders, scholars, and citizens of the world. Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match the charitable contribution made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, enter your employer’s name below.

Endowed Gifts

Endowments gifts are invested to produce ongoing income for a designated purpose. Because endowed funds are invested, they have a lifetime presence on Morgan’s campus and live in perpetuity. A named endowed fund may be established with a gift of $25,000 or more and can be used to support scholarships, faculty chairs, lectureships and more. Gifts can also be made without a designated purpose so that they assist with University priorities at the time.

Memorials and Tributes

A gift made in honor of a loved one, faculty member, student, or colleague is a wonderful way to recognize a person’s life and accomplishments or to commemorate a special occasion, such as a birthday, graduation, or anniversary. Gifts may be in honor or in memory of someone or an entire class to an existing fund held at the Morgan State University.

Bequests

Bequests have a strong and lasting influence on the character of Morgan and provide an enduring source of support for our students. For many, bequests are relatively easy to establish, often with simple language in your will or trust.

Corporate Gifts

Great things happen when organizations come together to achieve results beyond their individual scope of work. When universities partner with corporations, students get jobs, corporations get rising stars, brands are boosted, and research leads to new innovations and industries. Morgan builds lasting relationships with its corporate partners offering access to talented and culturally diverse faculty and students, research capabilities, and a range of academic disciplines.

Information to Include when making a Memorial or Tribute Gift

Include a note with your check indicating: the name of the person for whom the gift is being made in honor/memory of; the name and address of the person who should be notified of the gift; and the name of the fund to which the gift is being directed.

Obituary Language

In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of (name of decedent) may be made to the Morgan State University Foundation to benefit the (a fund designated by the spouse or family member).

Foundation Gifts

There is a long tradition of foundation support for research and education at Morgan from foundations that are national in scope to local and community foundations. Morgan State University Foundation partners with these charitable foundations to bring resources to the university through the identification and acquisition of foundation support for university priorities.
